Glenn Greenwald on FOX election coverage

Quote of the evening: I really highly recommend watching Fox News; it's like being at a wake for a person that you're really happy has died, but everyone else is in deep mourning.

Goodnight

Well, this will be my last post for the evening. Senate still in the balance: Montana and Virginia still too close to call. CNN has narrow leads for Democrats in both. Looks like there will be recounts. Kevin Drum has Democrats at +32 seats. My prediction on October 25th was Democrats +6 in Senate, +29 in House. I could be right on the Senate, but it looks like I wasn't quite optimistic enough in the House. Still, I don't think I'll be too far off. At least as good as Robert "Plame leaker" Novak, who on October 25th predicted Dems +4 Senate, +21 House.

Dems take House, Senate comes down to Virginia

Well, I'm back. Congratulations Democrats. Too bad it looks like Ned Lamont lost. I'm very happy to see that the governor of Ohio will be a Democrat. Maybe the 2008 election will be better run than the 2004 election, and give all voters a fair chance at voting. This is critical to the presidency in 2008. This diary on Kos says how Bush plans to "reach out" to the Democratic House. Bush can kiss our Democratic ass as far as I'm concerned. He's been villifiying us for years. He should be getting subpoenas and indictments, not cooperation. Still more to watch...

Too good to be true?

The New Republic (HT: TPM ) claims to have exit poll numbers on some Senate races: These numbers have now come in to me from two different sources though like the others they seem too pro-Dem to be true: Dems up: VA 52-47 RI 53-46 PA 57-42 OH 57-43 NJ 52-45 MT 53-46 MO 50-48 MD 53-46 GOP up: TN 51-48 AZ 50-46 -- Ryan Lizza

Democrats vs. Republicans

Kevin Drum : GEORGE? GEORGE WHO?.... Gavin Esler of the BBC: The Democrat campaign seems to boil down to one phrase: "We're not George Bush." And the Republican campaign is similarly taut: "We're not George Bush either." Sounds about right. I suspect that Democrats have the better of this argument, though. I don't think it's that simple, but there's some truth there.

I voted!

You should vote, too!
