That is fasinating. Why, if U.S. GNP grew by 55% (much more that populations growth), do people feel less better off today than 10 years ago ? Productivity also grew greatly during this time period.

There should not be any problem in our devoting a major portion of this 55% increase to universal health care coverage.

I espect the explanation is that the 55% increase went to just the most weathy and that wealth inequality in the U.S. just increased dramatically.
