Our least favorite soon to be ex-Democrat update

Joe Lieberman has decided that if he doesn’t win the Democratic primary, he’ll run as an independent. How are other prominent Dems reacting? Well, Hillary Clinton has said she’ll support whoever wins the Democratic primary in Connecticut, which seems like the incredibly obvious thing for a Democrat to say. Why Charles Schumer, head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC whose mission is to “elect Democrats to the Senate”) hasn’t said it yet is rather exasperating. I won’t say too much here, because you can read all you want on Taylor Marsh, Atrios, and Daily Kos.

UPDATE: Majikthise is pointing to a Raw Story report that the DSCC has said it will support the winner of the CT Democratic primary. But if I recall correctly, Raw Story has been wrong about this sort of thing before, and it's sourced anonymously, so take with the proverbial 500mg of sodium. Why doesn't the DSCC just make an unambigous public statement?
